Dam speakers
So i got new speakers around April (alpine type-s) components. It came with the 6.5" door panels, 2 tweeters, crossovers, and 6x9's in the rear. So when i turn the radio on all i hear is "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" from my drivers side door speaker then it says "failure" on my headunit (aftermarket) and then it goes away but no sound will come out of that speaker. Im thinking its a wiring issue. Anybody know a way I can diagnose this or know what the problem is?
Re: Dam speakers
could be wires touching (each other or metal part of door)

Re: Dam speakers
Wiring could have gotten yanked out if you down the window all the way?
Re: Dam speakers
Wiring/headunit, doesn't sound like a physical problem with SPEAKERS.

Re: Dam speakers
I would disconnect the leads to the speaker from the adapter going from the headunit to the factory connection. Turn it on and see what happens. Then connect one speaker at a time. As well I would look at resetting the stereo by removing power from it for a while.
Definitely a headunit problem.
What makes you think that? Its only one speaker, you think it has to do with the wiring from the headunit to the drivers side speaker?

your headunit did an evaluation of your life and its posting its results.
j/k, but its a headunit failure, because headunits cant really detect problems with speakers, just problems with the headunit itself and possibly power/ground issues.

Well the headunit still works and lets be use every option. When the noise stop the one speaker that beeps doesnt put out any sound. I think its a wiring issue between the headunit and the speaker.

well that is a possibility, but the headunit shouldnt display failure unless something is wrong with it. look up the manual online and see what it says

Re: Dam speakers
By the way the failure sign goes away once the power to the speaker is gone and the beep stops.

Re: Dam speakers
take a voltmeter and attempt to run a continuity test on that speaker. It isnt a circuit so there should be no continuity at all. If there is then you have a short on the line and you will need to find and fix it or just run new wiring.
