What's the highest confirmed and completed 3S sale price you know of?

Post by Jeff V. »

A certain bit of recent news brought me to ask this question.

What's the highest confirmed and completed 3000GT or Stealth sale you know of? Not counting brand new prices of course (~$45k for the 99 VR4 and ~$67k for a 96 VR4 Spyder)

If I'm not mistaken, Drag Pro went from GT Pro to the guys in Texas, and then off to Ray, for somewhere in the low 30s both times. I know a few people have asked for more, but that's the biggest actual, final sale price I've heard of.

GREAT post. I can tell you that it's not mine. Perhaps one of DR turn key cars?

90k+ 1998 Quicksilver Supra with <5000 miles? I know that doesn't fall into the Mitsu range, but it's still a Japanese car sold in the US from that time frame.

Yeah, I know of quite a few Supras that have traded hands at very high prices. Craig Lieberman's (the orange FnF car) and a few others.

I thought it was ridiculous when I found out that my 94 Base Model originally sold for like $25,000.

and I highly doubt that he's going to get that price, thus why confirmed and completed is in the title.

I can tell you that the GTO's in Australia sold for $110,000 cookies way back, and that was for a 1st Gen. Back then, that's around $85,000 - $90,000USD.

Well, if you're gonna be like that, how much did GT-Pro get for their red 98 that they entered into the SCCA event? Wasn't it in the upper 30K range?

...or how about the Orange AAM flagship? Didn't the new owner buy it off ebay?

Did it ever actually complete above 25k?

The problem with eBay is deadbeat bidders. Someone will bid a car up to 42k, and then never pay up. Hence why we saw AAMs car relisted 3 or 4 times. I think I remember hearing they finally sold it, but I never did hear the final transaction price. I know they didn't get nearly what they wanted though.

Haven't heard of GT Pro's red car. Was that the red-black two tone one that was very similar to the orange and black Project Bolt-On ?

I think he was talking about the one that as in SCC about a year ago. It wasn't owned by GT-Pro, though. The article did point to an owner, and that GT-Pro did all the work IIRC. All red with polished TE-37's (not white - that was Monett's car with those, and it was a 94-96 model).

It won that competition didn't it?

mmm, no I'm talking about a red 98 with white volks. I remember it was a 98 specifically because they got an earlier model engine wire harness for the AEM.

Unless this car wasn't ever entered into the event...
