Be sure to give them a much closer inspection. Crawl under them, look inside the frame if you can. They like to spray bomb the visible portions to hide rust.

Tundra offered to cover cost of timing belt service.

Rear bumper is trashed though and tailgate is beat up. Makes me wonder if there is something missing on the carfax.

It's not worth 15k to me when I can get a domestic with not much more mileage and the same year for half that.

Now is the perfect time to buy, now is also not the time to buy.

That tundra. $15k with timing service done. Figure another $1000 at least for a new bumper and tailgate, especially if painted to match.

Or there is a 04 silverado I found. 1 owner. Full service records. But 190k miles on it. $5k.

Is the tundra with 90k less miles worth $10k more?

If the Chevy hasn’t had the trans rebuilt it will need one shortly. Seems between 150-200k miles they need one. Usually not horrible, 1500-1600 labor included to have a local
Place rebuild them.

But I wouldn’t buy that Silverado. Or that tundra.

There's been a few.

Most likely to do it would be a 4.6 2v Ford.

Tundra - Older gentleman who had trouble with its size. Kept backing into things. Hence bad bumper.

They are willing to do $15k with the timing belt service.

Rear bumpers looks to be a couple hundred for a chrome one, less for one that I would need someone to paint.

Honest thoughts on paying that much for it?

Got better pics of the damage. Really would need the bumper replaced and lots of touch up work on the back.

That said, I did just find another 04 silverado, 150k on it, shit ton of service records over its whole life, looks clean, asking $6k.

IMO jump on that Silverado, bank 10k (you can do a shitload of repairs for 10k), get situated and stable income. Let the wife decide what she wants to do car wise and then look at a nicer truck in a couple years.

That's what I'm thinking. The local on is a pos, but the other one with 150k is nice. But in Salem.
