how much?

If you can get the Subaru for the price then I'd pick that.
Otherwise what I've heard so far, I'd look into that Tiburon.

Parents just got the subaru tonight. Dealer took $2k off the sticker (was $20k got it for $18k) It is a REALLY nice car. The ride in it is just amazing and so is the amount of features you get for under 20k

EDIT: final price was $21,800. that is with the navigation and sound system and stuff, and a 10 year/100,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty and 10 year/100,000miles powertrain warranty

Leave it stock and save the money for when you pick up another fun car. You'll thank yourself then.

the new Evo just will not have the same appeal. granted its technologically better than the previous model, but the whole car is "technically" the same machine (platform wise) as the new Caliber SRT4. that alone is a deal-breaker for me. I got a chance with a few people to drive the SST and the 5MT recently (press day) and it is a very good car. the 5MT shifts pretty much the same as the current model (surprise surprise) but the SST is the tranny to die for. that being said, if that thing breaks, you might as well be dead because i cant imagine fixing that to be cheap.

the SRT4 engine, also, echoes of the Evo X engine. they are not identical, but they are likely to share at the very least some design similarities and such.

you got a great buy with the regular lancer. spending the extra bucks on the evo is not worth it imo. keep this car stock and you'll enjoy it for years to come.

yea, i thought i remember hearing something about the caliber srt-4, it also shares the same platform with the outlander, which comes in v6 awd. a v6 awd lancer would be tits... but i get my car at 3 today, im fucking stoked. 18 and i get a brand new 20k car. the only thing im going to hate is parking 1,000,000 miles from the store and freaking over every scratch...

Didn't you at one point own a Mitsubishi that was also rebadged and sold as a Dodge?

Does anybody know the price range for the new Evo? I heard rumors that they would shoot for low 30s for a very stripped version, but to expect most Evos to end up in the mid 30s.

i fail to see the problem. if ferrari whored a platform out to ford would you not buy the ferrari because of this?

considering the mindset of most of the previous generation srt-4 owners, yes, i wouldnt buy a ferrari, cause when it comes down to it, there are other options in the same pricerange...

i hear ya. i love how much they've improved on the lancer at first. but then i found out these out and i was like "no way". if people didnt want to pay for a 30K Lancer then, people and some Evo enthusiasts arent willing to pay over 30K for a car that is not a "pure" JDM sport sedan like the previous Evo.

as a good high tech sedan (standard lancer) 20K is a bargain. adding all the features of the Evo imo dont make it worth over 30K, especially if its sharing a lot of similar components to a non-Japanese car. purists really will be the ones with a problem with the car.

and im with you on parking far. i walk for like 5 mins from my parking to any store i go to.

lol rebadged and sold as a dodge is one thing. built using the same parts to be a dodge is quite another

the price range is about $33K for the GSR 5MT and just over $37K for the SST MR.

you fail to see the problem because it is a matter of personal preference.

If Ferrari designed a chassis specifically for Ford, I wouldnt have a problem with that. If Ferrari shared the F430 chassis to Ford, then Id have a problem with that.
