[quote=""Monochrome""]mmm, no I'm talking about a red 98 with white volks. I remember it was a 98 specifically because they got an earlier model engine wire harness for the AEM.

Unless this car wasn't ever entered into the event...

The orange AAM car went to Seth toddrs soemthing on 3si. He used to work for AAM. He got the car for a ridiculously low price of around $17k.

I didnt know Jay was even selling his car.

And Bfeelgood got some very nice prices for some of the gems hes bought and sold. I wont say how much but they were all in the $25000-$40000 range.

Gary Cooper has had some desirable spyders for sale in the 30k-40k range. They sat for a while being overpriced but I do believe someone picked one up eventually.

I know of a 1st Gen that went for ~17k IIRC. It had something like 30k miles on it and some minor mods.

I tried to throw mine out there for 30k and then realized it wouldn't move, even at that price. The problem with the 3s is all the people that THINK they can build a prestine one for cheap.

If that 65k is spent paying someone else to turn every nut and bolt for you, then maybe you're right. Even if he did, I still think it's high, unless he paid $40k for the car brand new (which I don't think he did) and that's ignoring this little thing called depreciation.

I think I've got less than 20k wrapped up in mine. It floors me to think of what I could do to it with another FORTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

I'm about as much of a fanboy as there is for his car, but you know as well as I do that if he's got 65k wrapped up in that car, he got ripped off. It doesn't even have AC, ABS, cruise control, a working odometer or windshield sprayers anymore, and it's running around on $180 S-Tech springs.

I'm fully of the opinion these cars are undervalued, but let's be real for a minute here...

LOL.

Here is a confirmed price!

I bought my peice of shit for 9000 dollars. Only thing that did work in it flawlessly was the power antena. The exhaust was all right too.

Now after 6 grand she is flawless. I run on S techs but I also have AC ABS and cruise control. AND a working odometer! And hell, even windsheild sprayers. Aren't I a bad ass.

I am under 30k into mine, including the car for 9800. Granted I don't pay for labor, but I still have to pay for parts. If people think there is a huge margain on parts, they need to smell the roses.

I should be putting an additional $6k into it here (pending a few things), out of pocket, and then it should be a respectable track "3s".

Fuck. 65k? I'm sorry but that's laughable. For a few thousand more you can have a C6 Z06.

Did I say it was fair? He's the one that made it fair when he put the price up. All I'm saying is for a couple thousand more you could get a car like a new Z06. I think that's perfectly fair to say.
