Have you checked insurance costs? I'd be willing to bet the insurance rates on the Porsche faaaaaar exceed the vette.

I haven't checked the costs, but I guarantee insurance would be significantly higher. But at least that is a planned cost, and I'm fairly confident I could handle it. I am more worried about getting hit with 3-4 major repair/maintenance bills within a matter of a couple of months.

As mentioned, I will probably end up with the vette... its just far more practical. (Heh, corvette.. a practical car... imagine that.) I am just evaluating other possible avenues before I actually pull the trigger on a purchase.

A couple of us on this site have C5's and can probably answer any questions you may have about the car. I'm not sure who they are, you'll have to do a search.

I say nix the Porsche idea, every person I know who has one is a prick. Go with the C5 - that's a no brainer for me

The trunk on the Z06 is HUGE. I could easily fit golf clubs for 4 people in the car if I wanted to. No spare tire + big rear end + shelf storage behind front seats. It was awesome. Similar trunk space to my mercedes like this: Image
