I need a bigger tool cabinet. My little Craftsman one is jammed full of tools, and stuff laying all over the garage and workbench. What's the good "bang for the buck" tool chests? I'm thinking the Harbor Freight ones, 44" wide or something along those lines, but certainly open to suggestions.

They just rolled out the Harbor Freight Icon "Professional" line that appears to be pretty amazing, especially for the price.

I've got a stacker (3 tiers) Husky that I got on Black Friday a few years ago and it is still going strong. I wish it was bigger, but I basically got $800 worth of tool box for $300, or something like that.

Those Icon ones look nice, but probably more than I want to spend. The charger bay in the right-side drawer of the wide roll carts is pretty slick. They do have a 20% off coupon until the end of the month.

I'll take a look at Husky the next time I'm at HD. Those might be exactly what I'm looking for.

You don’t need one, you said you were tired of moding vehicles and mentioned getting rid of the vr4.

There are several 20% icon coupons out and one does cover them. Look up the SEMA one.

husky ones still feel better built than the new HF ones to me. Not the icon though, but thats more to compete with snapon/matco stuff imo. Though i do buy a lot of shit from HF.

I do have other vehicles to maintain, but that's a fair point...

So i took advantage of the 20% off SEMA coupon and bought a couple things yesterday. One of which is the 10 piece Metric Ratcheting end wrenches with anti-slip open ends.



A problem ive had with most open end wrenches is that if you have to torque on them, they will round off bolts. My HF ones can do it, Gearwrench, as well as others. Only my old Sears USA ones dont, but with this new wrench and its Anti-Slip opening I gave it a try. Locked a bolt and nut in the vise and had at it with my 14mm. All of my wrenches deformed slightly under extreme pulling. This wrench however bites in just before the corner and even with its much longer handle and increased torque I was not able to make it deform or slip.

I was a little skeptical at first, but Icon appears to be coming out with some solid stuff.

I have a set of their regular flexible ratcheting box/open end wrenches I find them way more useful than the fixed ones like that. I just wish I could find a 17mm version of it

I have a couple sets of the Husky flexible and fixed ratcheting end wrenches - those really come in handy a lot.
