What Forester are you looking at? The 19 has significantly better gas mileage than the WRX. 26/33 for the Forester and 21/27 for the WRX.
*looks in pants*
IDK either but its there and not going away.
I think the fact that the company and the brand are wholesome goes a long way for their image, even though their cars are middle of the pack quality wise. And the awd system is supposedly one of the best.

Plenty of other fun to drive cars that get as good or better mileage than a Subaru. All I hear about Subaru is horror stories, from oil consumption, to head gaskets, to broken ring lands, cracked turbos, etc. My boss has a Forester and had to have the engine replaced at 20,000 miles, and now it has a recall for a valve spring issue or something like that.
It just seems like people drink the Kool-Aid on Subaru, and don't care about all the MAJOR issues they have. At this point I'd buy a VW or Audi before I got a Subaru.

Every person I know who has a Subaru loves it. Most are repeat customers. Comparing it to an Audi is like apples to oranges though.

We love our Subaru, but we are also aware of some of their issues too. I'd still probably buy our Outback again, the flat engine and their AWD setup makes it drive much more like a car than any other CUV. It also has a lot more cargo space than other vehicles in its class.
As for their performance cars there really is something about how they drive I really like. They aren't the fastest on a track or on autox but they offer a really wide range usability and performance. They are also basically the only affordable AWD performance car left (Focus RS and Golf R are much more expensive)

You have to compare the RS and Golf R to the STi. WRX is more inline with the ST and Golf, just has AWD standard.
I just don't get the appeal of Subaru.

Sure you're Spec.B was fun to drive, but I have just as much fun driving my ST on a daily basis.

I dont like the looks of the ST or I would be more about them.
So from a ford guy and Subi guy.
Ford Escape brand new and a wrx brand new....10 years down the road which one is worth more?

WRX will be worth more for sure because of the Subaru crowd.
An Escape is just an Escape...

That might make my decision right there. Cars depreciate, but the less they do the better you are off down the road.

Though a WRX and an Escape are not in the same class, so it is kind of hard to compare...
I still think you need to look at the Edge Sport with the 2.7L TT V6 and AWD.

You are right in the edge sport and something I never would have thought about which is why I like asking. I will drive one before I buy something.
