Following up on the junkyard thread. Had a fairly nice 4x4 Power Ram 50 show up in the yard last month and there was a sale on parts this weekend, so i grabbed a few. The items i was most interested in were the sport tach and the rare chrome front bumper. You can buy aftermarket, but the new chrome isn't as nice as 80's Japanese chrome. That stuff is resilient. The new stuff also tends to be thinner gauge steel.

The truck in question. 1989 4x4 Sports cab (rare).

Before...Most of these trucks had black only bumpers, but the upper optioned ones either got chrome or color matched. Guy before me pant matched mine after hitting something. It wasnt pretty.

Image

During...Surprisingly its only 4 front bolts and 4 side bolts that hold this together. Not much, lol!

Image

Final...Yes, all the chrome goodness I've been missing.

Sold her this weekend. Good news is it went to someone who REALLY wanted it and appreciates it as much as I do.

Last stroll around the block with the boys.

Off she goes to CA.

Would have happily sent it your way bud. Thought i started a thread a while back saying most of the vehicles were eligible for sale. That included the 96TT if you are still interested?

Ah I missed that memo got focused on the Stealth, but that's sadly not feasible for me currently. It'd never get used at all.

That's cool. Glad it went to a loving home. I should follow up and see what happened to mine.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Yea went to an older retired mechanic on Ram50 forum. He doesn't have much and always wanted a v6 4x4 instead of his troublesome I4 trucks. Poor guy had to hitch a ride to my house from Auburn CA because he was stranded. He's a lot happier now.
