yup AWD 2.0 turbo. I wish I would have held out for a titanium, the seats are much better. How many miles you got? I changed drained and refilled my trans fluid after hearing horror stories of people waiting till 150k like the manual said to.

Coop
I'm at 89K.

Haven't heard any horror stories, but I doubt I'm as plugged-in as you are.

I'll probably be dead way before I hit 150K. :)

I am at 97k, damn already put 5k on this vehicle, and its not horror stories just more caution stories from the Facebook group. If you have a Facebook you should join the escape group, if you want I will post the link to the one I am in. They are mostly helpful.

I want to sell mine by 150k as I know ford tested these engines HARD to 150k, hopefully money wise we will be good when that happens.

Thanks for the invite, but the only time I do FB is to view pics of my 6 grand-kids...if I hung out there, someone would enable their targeting software and take my ass out, I think.

Do fords have lug nuts that need a key? None of my other tires needed them and then one on the back is like needs a 16pt socket?

If that has the stainless capped lug nuts that like to swell and come apart.... Pretty much anything you can get will be better.

Dorman makes decent stock replacement lug nuts.

They are stainless, no idea if they do what you say or not.

Also need an air filter, was thinking of a cold air intake like this. Thoughts?

All it will do is make more noise, unless you get a tune. The EcoBoosts are torque based tunes, so it’ll make more power and torque at first, till the ECU learns, and then it will only make what torque Ford says was ok.

Understand. I was thinking about a tune later on. What else would I need besides intake? I wanted a tuner that also let me monitor things, real ricer stuff ya know. Lol.

Full bolt on for the ST is usually intake, exhaust, downpipe, bigger inter cooler, charge pipes, and a tune. Pretty similar for the RS too.

That’s what I was thinking... I’d want to keep it reliable.

Probably not....but I would like all the info if I wanted too.

I doubt it though as I’m gonna drop some major coin in the vr4 suspension and that will be my modding for a good while.

Finally got around to changing the PTU or transfercase as 3/s would call it. The fluid looked good. Prob didn’t need to be changed but glad I did. Put royal purple and the weight it called for in it.

I would like to change the rear diff but YouTube videos says you have to cut off the exhaust and bunch of other stuff. Wish there was another way.

Even the bolt to get it you have to do it all by feel and cut a bit down according to the YouTube video I watched.

Just wasted almost 3 hours of my life trying to change the rear diff fluid on the escape.

There are two bolts you can use. One is against the rear frame and I’m still not sure what it is. It’s not a torx and it ALMOST fits a 3/8 drive. It’s so close you can’t even get a pic of it with the camera but I’m almost positive that it’s square. What would that even be??

The other one is on the side, they ALMOST make a cut out for an extension socket but not really. It’s close enough I’m debating about opening it up some. But it’s a t40, well I can get a t40 in there but it’s on a bad angle and they are in there good. Add to that I tried to use a low profile wrench in and it fit, and strait on, but even the 5* click wasn’t enough to be able to turn it.

So I either need to figure out what that back fitting is and even if I do it’s gonna be super hard to remove, or make a little room to get at the the other. Online isn’t any help as different people have different accounts of what theirs are.

Kind of frustrating.
