i found this pretty funny. shitty job i had the other day at work. heres the info i sent and the response i got after calling them.

Description of vehicle concern:

vehicle has intermittant long crank times. cust states occasionally it wont start. verified long crank (5-6 seconds) did not verify no start.

Diagnostics performed:

checked fuel quality. ok. no ethanol content. maf sensor readings ok. fuel pressure ok. originally was bleeding off fuel pressure when sitting. replaced fuel pump assy and pressure now holds ok. performed relative compression and injector flow tests. all ok. reprogrammed pcm to latest calibration and drove vehicle 10 miles after recalibration. air filter ok. short and long term fuel trims right in spec.

Parts replaced:

fuel pump

response

Call Log:

Calls to hotline for this vehicle:

11/7/2007 5:36:00 PM - Tech said:

Steven has a concern with a vehicle. well no shit. why else would i call? At first was not holding fuel pressure. Has replaced the fuel pump. Now the vehicle will not lose fuel pressure. The concern of hard long start is still present. Has compared with a like unit. Has checked fuel quality. MAF voltage is ok. Has re-flashed the PCM with the latest calibration.

11/7/2007 5:36:00 PM - Hotline recommended:

Recommended Steven to check the F2.16; F1.11; F2.9; F1.10; F1.6; F1.4; fuel pump relay; PCM power relay. Inspect the BJB and CJB.

those fuses relate to the pcm, alternator, and cluster. they will in NO way contribute to a long crank. a no crank or no start? sure. but not a long crank.

Reminds me of the call logs I saw to Volvo tech. Sometimes our guys would spend over four hours on the phone and 18 (yes, EIGHTEEN) hours waiting for email responses - just for permission to replace a cam and have it covered under warranty...

Made me glad I wasn't one of the service techs. :D

HA HA! FORDS SUCK! :p
