almost a million miles in 12 years?!?!
That poor guy must have lived in that truck! I was expecting to see some '70's 350 pickup truck, not a '91 Silverado that he bought in 1996!

If it weren't for all of the press, he could try to resell that thing as an uber-low mileage classic.

Article doesn't mention if thats the original engine and tranny at 1 million miles without rebuild.
I'm betting the tranny at LEAST was rebuilt at some point in all those miles. All kinds of things in that drivetrain could have been rebuilt, just THAT car and THAT odometer.

Don't be so sure.I'm betting the tranny at LEAST was rebuilt at some point in all those miles. All kinds of things in that drivetrain could have been rebuilt, just THAT car and THAT odometer.
There was another guy 2 or 3 years ago who had a similar Chevy pickup that rolled 1,000,000. He put something like 450 miles per day on his truck. It was all original. Engine and trans had never been opened.

My grandparents went 370K miles on a full size chevy van, original engine but like on its 3rd rebuilt auto tranny.

it wouldn't surprise me at all if that truck went that way w/o a rebuild...if he maintained it well.....the parts in the trans arn't gonna go bad...change the fluid..doesnt' look like he was towing/plowing with it..so...normal easy driving in flay areas well net you long range hassle/problem free parts..

I <3 Chevy's, my last two have had 162K and 205K when I sold them and were both going strong. I figure I've got at least 150K left in my SS
