what you all think of this car on EBay... I am not 100% sure I want another car right now but this one caught my eye...and you guys having pics of your cars hasn't helped... I would prob use it as my daily but keep it fixed up nice my only concern is the lock/key issue? Is there anything I missed in that big huge paragraph...

slloooooowww.
Like, VEEEERY SLOOOOOW.
that poor car couldn't get out of it's own way. Looks fast, but is good for about a 17-second 1/4 mile time (Most anything on the road is faster).
But at least it should be reliable

You know, my car is for sale.....you could make it your weekend car and keep the Mustang as the daily
Like Jeremy said though, SOHCs are sloooooow. They do make good reliable daily drivers though and don't get too bad of gas mileage. Quite a few people on 3Si have them as daily drivers.

You guys didn't spot anything that I may have missed in that huge paragraph? Doesn't look like anything is dented on it or anything.. I don't really need fast. I am not looking to out race people if I do it will be in the mustang. I dunno I just can't figure out if I want like a used AWD or 4WD vehicle or just a car that is front wheel?

at least the 97s are purdy
get a carfax
*edit* about the locks. if they rusted shut that could mean flood damage. otherwise, the car may have been broken into and the locks were changed. both of those are extreme cases i suppose, but entirely possible.

The 97 SOHC will be a major downgrade in power to the Stang. But if you are just looking for a daily driver that you can actually drive when the roads are bad then power shouldnt really matter.
As fot the locks, like I had started to tell you, they can be fixed. My drivers door lock is frozen, I just never fixed it. I did however fix the lock on my TSI.

Easy to fix, usually. Cheap.. depends on what you break.

Looks nice except for that eyesore under the driver's fog. I hear you know someone that sells bumpers. :suspect2: Get that fixed.

The problem is that with that car you're going to have people wanting to race or you're going to try and pass someone, and it's not going to work. the new 4-cylinder Accord is faster than that car and gets better mileage at the same time. If you are serious about a 3S AT LEAST get a DOHC (SL) as it will feel somewhat peppy and still return upper 20's mpg (I was able to touch 30mpg periodically). You might say "I don't really need fast" but if you're anything like me, the lack of any guts in that car will drive you nuts real fast, especially if you swap back and forth between cars often.

It bugs me...a LOT! That said, I haven't driving the base for the better part of the year with the trans out.

Don't bother with the SOHC, it's extremely slow and doesn't get awesome gas mileage or anything. If it's going to be a daily, at least get something with a little more room in it or something. A base SOHC 3/S is about the worst combination of everything for a commuter. It's slow as shit, has no room inside, and doesn't get awesome gas mileage...Civic will be more fun
Get a DOHC and have the same gas mileage, but at least have 220HP so you're getting closer to being as fast as last years Accord

I'd at least get the SL. The 3k's are heavy cars and the SL has enough power to be "zippy" the Base model in that ebay ad only has 164 HP. You'll be happier in an SL.
The 97-98 look is the best of all years

The guy says in the ad he has an SL for cheaper
