Things that really suck...

Here's my list:
1) Replacing an automatic transmission by yourself.
2) Replacing said transmission by yourself with a jack that will not lift the transmission high enough to bolt onto the engine.
3) Replacing said transmission by yourself with a jack that will not lift the transmission high enough to bolt onto the engine, and not having a hoist.
4) Replacing said transmission by yourself with a jack that will not lift the transmission high enough to bolt onto the engine, not having a hoist, and finding out the dealership never ordered your snap ring for the passenger's axle after you have already taken the old one out.
That is all.

I dunno how autos are compared to manuals, but I know when I did my 5 speed and all I had was a floor jack (no tranny jack and no hoist) I busted out the ratchet strap trick - it worked but it was by far not pretty.

Rachet straps would have been useful. Its a shame I didn't have any.
It took a couple of hours, but I was eventually able to get the tranny lined up using a combination of jacking and piling/moving bricks. It wasn't easy getting it lined up correctly though.

6. Putting in a Transmission (and in my case Transfer case) only to have something leak.
7. Not only does either the transmission, but not the oil cooler and a fuel line do too.

5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13.....etc ..........Having to replace your o/s after snapping it(trans out and then back in), ...taking the car out, having the seal leak, taking the trans out again, replacing the seal, putting it back in, taking the car out...busting open your 6spd, get a new 6spd, install it, having your C/C clutch grenade, taking out the trans, replacing your c/c, put in the trans, having your seal leak again, taking the trans out, put it back in.....load it on the trailer..drive 14hrs to NG, on drag day having Jeff aka Gatecrasher look under your car and say..."""Yup your output shaft seal is leaking".....................TIME CONSUMING !!!! BTW..did i mention there's no "trans lift/jack or hoist" involved..its all about bench pressing the hump up and around the inner side of your frame!!...now that sucks.

Even with using ratchet straps, that part can still be a bitch!
