Suspension problems (i think)

When i drive my car it feels like im on one of these
Also sometimes it feels like someone is grabbing the wheel and turning it suddenly to the left or right (its slight but still enough to be like wtf). Anyone have any ideas what the problem is. Im sure this isnt rare. Im thinking ill just replace the shocks and struts and see if that fixes most of the problem. Thanks to anyone who replies.

Its a 96 eclipse gst. It has some kind of aftermarket suspension on it that sucks with not camber kit.

Are coilovers worth the extra money. People say if youre not doing auto cross or racing theyre not really necessary

coilovers are a waste if this is something you just drive on the street.
Sounds like worn out struts if your car is "bouncy", just buy another set of tokicos, they are pretty good brand.

Worn out struts or springs, or both. The pull to the left and right could be bad alignment.

Im looking at a set of tokico illuminas to buy with my tax return money. Then my next problem is the clutch pedal coming out too far and lack of boost.

the random jerk of the wheel sounds like a wheel bearing or a tie rod. the wheel bearing isn't THAT bad, but a tie rod is. i'd jack the car up on that side and grab the tire by either side and try to rotate the tire like you're stirring a pot.. not spin the wheel, but rotate it and see if you have any movement. i'd investigate this quick because a rapid small jerk due to a tie rod failing can turn into a rapid large jerk and then you're dragging one tire and rim.
if it was only happening when you hit a bump though, i'd say shocks and struts will fix this too.

Last time my car was in to get tired put on they replaced my drivers side inner tie rod so im guessing if any others were bad theyd get replaced too. It is only durng bumps on the highway going like 65ish.

Well according to this thread you need new shocks and struts.

lol I was just thinking that too, I was like wow that sounds like my problem. I should do it this weekend, just get it over with. I hate when my car suddenly jerks to the side and I think I might die =X

Change the rear sway bar end links, too. I think that's what they are called.
Cheap, and makes a huge difference!

Struts and springs are easy to replace. I've removed them from a DSM and it was as easy as it is on my 240. I'd say it'd take about an hour to replace them on my 240 if nothing was rusted on.
