Found a 6spd trans with MR gears... yay or nay?

My 91 TT is transmission-less since I had to use that trans in my 92 TT that I just sold. Found a good deal on a 6spd MR trans... I'm seriously considering picking it up.

wutcha think?

speaking of transmissions, anyone know where I can find 2nd and 3rd gear synchro's so I can rebuild my spare 5spd?

is the MR's good deal cheaper than what you could get a US 6SPD for?

All the Japanese models had the shorter gearing! :tantrum:

I have lost track of how many times I've said that...

I don't have any :(

The only place I know of that regularly stocks parts is Jacks Transmissions, but their prices are pretty high due to them having to import them in small quantities directly from Japan.

So you're saying the 3000GT MR down the street isn't a mid engine car? aww

No. It runs on pixie dust and happy thoughts.

I'll be damned..I didn't know that..
no, seriously..I didn't. :(

So other than 50 pounds of weight and a few missing gadgets, there's nothing special about the MR?

nope. Although they had the option for 17" BBS rims and 6-pot AP calipers (which looked hot).

Pretty much. I need to find a brochure on the damn thing and settle this once and for all.
It has larger brakes stock from what I've seen (optional package over seas), and some have 13g's stock.
The only 3S that had stock 13Gs were the European market ones. I've been all through the Japanese parts catalog and none of the GTOs showed an applicable 13G turbo part number. Any GTO that was sold with anything bigger than a 9B was converted at the dealer and not the factory.
