Voting for 3s Advanced Tech Moderator

Coop vs. VR4.

I voted for Steve. No offense to Coop, but Steve is more likely to shake things up. I would love to see him lay into some dumbass as a mod. :D

Is it a popularity contest or about who is more 'advanced tech'?

You guys do realise that if Dirty Steve ends up a mod at 3si, the universe will collapse in on itself. :runaway:

Alan took the "advanced" title off of the forum.

There hasn't been hardly any 'advanced' discussion there since I got received my walking papers as the forum moderator.

The description is different from what it was originally set up for too

"This is where you go to discuss advancing the platform."

No, it was supposed to be a place for advanced, high level discussion of complex shit, free of the noise caused by people who don't know their ass from their elbow.

Fortunately, we have 3S Tech now.

If any of you guys are seriously considering taking the mod position, my recommendation is "don't". I've been there, and it just ends up being a pain in the ass.

The word "Advanced" was removed from the forum title and added to the group title. The "Techinical Discussions" and "ECU Tuning". THe ECU tuning forums was the spawn of the ADV tech forum and was originally a sub forum. THey both carry restrictions on who can post in them.

The new moderator can select a new description for the forum if he chooses.

Hum, he should not have been able to make that thread.

I'll have to check that. That forum has been modless for a few weeks which is why that post it still there. (I'll fix it tonight)

I skimmed the first page and saw that. Imagine if I was actually looking

The reason you're struggling to find mods is because some of the old ones got tired of trying to corral the children and follow a rule set that is constantly in flux. Continually allowing, nay...encouraging the clueless and illiterate to sign up and post only exacerbates the problem.

Like I said, that's one of the reasons I voted for him. I expect Steve to shake things up.

I thought no one could 'ask' to be a mod...that candidates would be approached?

Coop was nominated. A lot of other names were suggested. Steve posted up, probably as a self-nomination, but others began to second his nomination. Sounds legit to me.

Or... maybe this is just a sign that things will now be run differently. :)

Steve knows way more then me, no way around it. Its also about moderation and if steve can control himself. I wouldnt mind if steve got it, I hated to see him leave 3si and this will more or less make him come over sometimes. Good luck to you steve.

Some people like to pee their own names into snow. Steve does the same, but uses hardened cement.
