Eh it cant be that hard. I am just not looking forward to doing it. I am going to take it off tomarrow and take it to a machine shop monday so I can make sure it gets true flat. Then put it back on the weekend after next.

Not hard at all, I've done one on a civic. It took about 2.5 hours to get it all done. Pretty much just pull everything off and put it back on.

Damn bos. I just gave up, I dont care anymore. BAWC without shoutbox is like bad sex, it gets the job done but you know it could be much better. I found all the info I needed. Hopefully this will not take to long.

How did the HG blow? Did the engine overheat and blow it or did it just develop a leak?

If this is a beater car and you're trying to do it on the cheap, then just toss the HG on there. If the car just developed a leak in the HG, then it'll probably work fine. If it overheated a bit, it'll probably be fine...if you really overheated the car or it's been nearly overheated multiple times, then the head might not be flat.

EDIT: I didn't bother with the head when I did it on a friends car, it was a beater and he didn't want to spend much money on it, but figured it was worth the $50 and my time (free) just in case it got it back on the road.

Its a beater and I didnt let it over heat, it just got hot for the first time and the idle was total shit. I pulled it over when it did that and I pulled the dipstick and saw water. It might of been over heated alot in the other 213k but how cheap it is to change if it does it again I will do it right. Heck the gasket is like 60 bucks. I should just put an extra 360 and buy a whole engine to just drop in lol.

was all going well untill the head bolts wouldnt come off with a very nice impact. Even broke some heavy duty sockets. Rounded some head studs. Took some extra time and ran to advanced. Everyone needs a set of these

took out head bolts that the dang impact wouldnt. 20 bucks well spent.

advanced autozone. I made a thread about it on 3si in the general section called "life savers" You can read that some love them and one person broke them. That one if over here as well, I am sure he can chime in. On a side note, I just ordered new head bolts and a gasket 80 bucks
