My car eats more oil than gas.

Post by onebadmofo »

Leaky front turbo feed line + bad VSS = I gotta add 1qt of oil each 150-200 miles  . At any given time I have at least 2 quarts of oil in the trunk.
It's just a rant really since I know the problem but no $ to fix it :(

What.... Either pick up a set of gasket material and make a gasket... $5 or use some grey RTV $5. Turbo Feed leak fixed.... unless its the line and not the flanges.

VSS $30 and maybe $15 for the tool to do the work.

Thats $50 bucks man. Hell if you are going through a quart of oil every 200 miles at what $2/qt thats $50 per 5000 miles. So at the estimated 12k miles per year your cost in oil is exceeding your cost for repair after 5 months. You can scrounge up $50 bucks cant you. Shoot you can use OEM or even E-Bay VSS. I'll even give you a link to a set of Viton VSS on e-bay that will work great. Been running them for around 5k miles with no issues, size and fitment match the stock ones and they are identical to the Manley Viton VSS that Summit Racing sells.

This is what I bought and used. Nice snug fit, clicked in place.... not a bit of smoke since. I was literally blowing oil out my exhaust.

The turbo feed line should be a piece of cake. Isn't that just a couple of crush washers?

I got no garage and no parking. Car is parked on the street in NYC so I'm stuck with mechanics. Prices are vary from 600 to 1100 for VSS :(

I can almost guarantee that some respectable 3S owner out there in the area who knows there stuff would help for a bit of cash/beer if you asked.
