I really enjoyed this. Skip to about half way where he starts talking about results if you want.

WTF you talking about?

The LiquiMoly literally finished FIRST in the turbo deposit test in his video.....

In the turbo deposit test, lower number is better, and it was the lowest, by a lot.....

https://youtu.be/tohBEVErQ3k?si=jd2p5nVSOEAaJI0H&t=2020

And the 10W60 oil from them is very different from their Molygen 5w30.

Sorry you are right. It was redline. But it was worst % about sheering by a lot. That was right before the turbo section.

Yeah so you can't do extended oil changes on it. Again LiquiMoly Molygen is a lot different oil than their Synthoil Race Tech GT1, which is what their 10W60 is.

You can't use the results from those tests as surrogate data for an entire brands oil lineup.

Seems like Pennzoil is a great all around performer and better priced.

this, it has been for quite some time. Its what i switched to when rotella t6 changed their formula. Its the best "easy to find" that isnt super expensive or special order. Was going to do amsoil or liquimoly in the sti once its done bt im not positive on what i will go with.

Also, coop, you have to understand that these were comparing some of the best choices. Its like saying the last place olympic runner is slow, when hes still faster than 99.9% of the rest of the world.

Yes. I get one test does not cover all viscosity and options of a brand and that any of those would not be bad.

I just hadn’t changed the oil on the truck since I got it, and I know I will go past time of normal but not miles. So I found this all interesting. Figured you all would as well.

I went with amsoil diesel as it didn’t burn off, as the 8.1 is known for burning oil. I think it’s more an issue with rings or big block something or other. But I’ll give it a test to see. 140 bucks in oil.

Also the few option in his test that stayed cooler than others….that was really interesting.

I honestly don't keep enough of an eye out for these things anymore. I just try to get full synthetic and change out regularly. My Ram says it can go 7-10k miles on an oil change which i don't buy and think contributes to all those cam/lifter failures. It gets the 5k treatment no matter what.
