New seat/covers

The truck needs new seats…foam. Not only the bottom but the back.
I can get new foam. But should I go with Amazon/ebay covers, katskin, or take it to a shop to do.
I’ve been happy with the katskin in the vr4 but had a shop do it so they added foam and made it perfect.
Thoughts?

A shop will always be better looking in the end but for something like your truck I think good enough might be fine.

I can’t seem to find the foam for the back of the seat. It’s actually what bugs me the most. I don’t know why it’s all jacked up but it is. Chris you are right, good enough will prob work…but it seems more often when I get in this thing it’s for a while and with my back I don’t want to play around. My avalanche was the best seats I’ve ever sat in. It was perfect. I want this to be that. Wish it was simple to add cooled seats. Man I love that.

Why not look for some good used Avalanche/Tahoe/Suburban seats then? They should bolt right in.

Fair enough if you're driving it long distance then getting it to be the most comfortable is probably worth it

I thought since mine was a 01 and the avalanche I had was an 04 they don’t have the same brackets on the floor? Am I wrong in that?

There's some minor year to year differences, but as far as I'm concerned, that's the same seat.
I wouldn't even bother finding the later seats. I'm guessing your Avalanche just had better condition foam or maybe a different density.

It's probably because they're over 20 years old and all the OEM stuff is discontinued. The seat bottom takes the most wear from people slouching out of the truck and dropping down.
Is the problem the support in the kidney area? You can probably take the foam off and bend the brackets back. Part 60/64 in the diagrams is just really thick wire. You can bend it with hand tools and get some more support out of it.
