Ok, so he has one of those cheap ones that uses the key to open it, and it wouldn't open. So I got frustrated and it broke off. Now what can I do about it? I figure I am just going to hit it with a hammer and shatter the rest of it because its a piece of plastic shit thats probably from china. Opinions?

a 97 ford f150 with the...4.2L v6. Yeah, it had its engine replaced under warrenty lol.

EDIT: Yes, right as i wrote this, he said he just pulled it out and put the stock one on. +1 for him and +1 for Steve.

how did he manage that? the only thing that kills those is hydrolock.

I think it had the spun bearing mod. Although I am not sure since it happened like 5 years ago.

no/bad gas cap can/will trigger a CEL

im aware of what it will do. if its not on now and the stock cap is good it wont come on.
