Ramps
Okay, I need to figure out ramps. They are expensive. I am also not in a hurry. I can borrow some.
But what do I need to look for? How much would a simple 2x12 hold? Could I back it with some angle iron?
School me!
Also my trailer post has pictures, go enjoy.

I'm not sure that's a good idea, the ramps I've seen them advertise would be fine for the model A but they aren't strong enough for even a Miata

I mean I get it but I also don't. Enclosed cargo trailers are generally a decent amount cheaper and easier to find. Since the model A is pretty small and light a cargo trailer works. On the other hand he's having to do all these modifications and changes to get it to work as a car trailer.

Its a lot of this. I had to get an enclosed trailer. I also have a 1/2 ton truck. A cargo trailer works better. Yes ideally I would have a car hauler open. After this (and maybe the olds) I will sell this and get a real open trailer.
Im also buying stuff I can reuse or put on something else. Sorry if this isnt perfect. This whole situation isnt perfect and no clear way out without a TON of money.
But lets be honest, if I would have bought an amazing trailer you all would have been like, why did you get that its just a model a. Or now you need a 30k truck to pull that. Like, Im sorry, Im working with what I have to get done with what I need. At the end of the day this might be the model As garage when running. So then even having a more expensive trailer that I cant use is even more pointless.

Re: Ramps
I get the budget thing, but now you need to reinforce the floor, get/make some ramps, etc. How much are you actually saving?
Not to mention if by some misfortune you get in an accident with it and are hauling a vehicle in a trailer not designed for it and the structural inadequacies of the trailer cause damage to the hauled vehicle - will insurance cover that?

Re: Ramps
This car weighs roughly 2300 lbs.
For comparison, Steve's kei car Cappuccino weighs 1600.
This isn't exactly a heavyweight car.
I would have found a way to do it with a proper car trailer just to avoid some of the hassle. But given the size of the vehicle involved, I can't really say Coop is wrong for doing it his way.
His way is more work, but he's also learning a lot more than he would have if he'd have just signed a check.

I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I did put insurance on it, I told them what I was doing. They seemed fine. Now worst case would a lawyer tear that apart? Maybe. But at the end of the day its a trailer rated to haul 7,000lbs. Who says What 7,000lbs cant go in it? Seriously? A couple motercycle or mowers would weigh the same and no one would batt an eye.
The winch, will go on my 4 wheeler, the tie downs, will go on my next trailer, the battery will go to my vr4, the chocks will go to my next trailer, so will the ramps. So I really am trying to reuse everything and while Im spending money nothing compared to an enclosed car hauler, that I dont have the vehicle to pull. Even this will not be ideal. One of the stipulations is that it was hauled in a closed trailer. Jeff mentioned wrapping the car like a new car and that would have been more ideal. But if you are an old man, whose kept his wifes model A (whose passed away) for 60+ years and some kid comes to get it but tells him a wrap will be plenty .he may tell you to fuck off. He may not.
Am I thrilled with this? Nope. Am I worried some yup. Thats why Im here, asking help and advice on how to make this work the best I can.

Painting the ramps. Freak they are heavy! If they were a hair smaller I would powder coat them. I wanted silver but they didn’t have it. This will work.

This is what I got. I knew I could get HF. As only half the car will be on the ramp at any time, plus only one wheel per ramp. So they would have handled the model A. But I wanted to hold bigger for later and only buy once. But freak they are heavy.
