Why does this have to pop up in my town? It was $8k, but now they dropped it more.

Yea, it would be a want more than a need. Cool part is carrying passengers and camping. This would be fun to take out on trails, do a little 4x4 action and camp in. Plus turbo Diesel right hand drive!

This one appears to be in some pretty bad condition though.

Nice as well. I do like this body style though.

I don't really see the attraction of right hand drive. Just seems like a huge negative to me. I'd be interested in something like this for a bike hauler/weekend vehicle hah. Could easily fit the bikes in it.

Yea I would eventually swap over if possible. Lol. Would be a nightmare on single lane highway.

I have no idea how they did it, but there's at least one LHD Delica. South American maybe?

NM. Looks like it's got enough in common with the US market Mitsubishi "Van" that you could swap it.

Here's a good reason not to though.

Part of the charm of these is the fact that they are RHD. I am getting more and more used to it. Last night we stopped at a fast food restaurant and I had my 12 year old son climb up front to order and pay. I gave him a spare steering wheel I had from one of my rx7's. It really freaked out the lady at the window when we pulled up to get their food. My boys loved it!!

You know what's weird? Reading that thread and finding a three year old comment from yourself talking about insurance.

I drove RHD in Australia and NZ.. it really isn't that huge of a deal (I had more issues with the swapped wiper and blinker stalks than anything) but I wouldn't want to drive it often here. Just a PITA.

The buggy I drove in St. Lucia was RHD. I don't know if that's a good comparison though. I can say it wasn't hard as far as coordination. Being in a RHD country, and in mostly rural areas probably helped a lot too.

Yeah my first experience was pulling out of the airport in NZ and driving through Auckland, then into narrow rural roads driving down to Taupo hah. I caught on to the driving fairly quickly.. only thing was I tended to cut left curves a bit too much so the annoying lane warning kept kicking in. But other than that not bad.. other than the $@*)(#$*E)@ stalks.

Made it even worse when I landed back here after 40 hours on the go and had to drive home. Kept turning the wipers on when I wanted the blinker hah.

I have driven RHD twice in the UK. First time was leaving Edinburgh airport, and the second time was leaving Heathrow... Once you get used to it it really isn't bad. Hardest part for me was remembering to look both ways making a right hand turn, and parking. Sitting on the other side of the car made parking and your depth perception much different. The 2 cars I drove in UK, and the one in Spain all had stalks that were the same as the US. Maybe it was an Australian/NZ thing for the stalks to be backwards?

Yeah it might have been a NZ/Aussie thing. We all made jokes about it and the group message went off a few times after we got back since we kept grabbing the wrong stalks here.. haha.

Yea, i got used to driving right hand while we were in NZ for 2 weeks. Like you I would dart in on right hand turns and freak everyone out. And yes the wipers got their fair share of attention. Slowly get used to it. Lol.

My issue would be 2 lane highways here. If you were attempting to overtake a semi it would be dangerous because the van would have to be almost entirely in the oncoming lane before knowing if there is any traffic or not. Also not to keep having the rear door open up to traffic.

Otherwise no biggie.
