I know this is odd but what sponge do you use when washing your car. I have this big plain one that doesnt really get bug guts off. Then I use to have one wrapped in some sort of mess for the bug guts or road grime, problem is that one would get so dirty that you never wanted to use it.
There has to be another way. Do you use a brush? Do you use a rag with a polish on it?
Whats your washing Technique.
Coop.

Re: Sponge
Load a 5 gal bucket with fav suds and run a soft, long bristled brush on a 4 inch stick. Been doing it for a long time. Gets about 98% of everything scrubbed real well.

I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

This, and now always in straight lines, no circles as it helps to prevent swirl marks.

Mine looks very similar to this. Synthetic bristles are very soft on the end, but do a great job cleaning. Also has the rubber bumper around the edges, so you dont scratch the paint when working around objects like mirrors.

Nah, they work great. The poly brushes are softer than your paint. Looking closer mine has softer and taller bristles. Probably closer to this guy.

Pressure washer and a microfiber cloth. Coated my cars with ceramic over a year ago and it makes cleaning easy.

Yeah. I just spent over 300 in cleaning stuff. The ceramic was a good 150 of it.

Its worth it.
Although if I could afford it, I would just wrap the entire car in a clear or colored film. Its a lot more rock chip and sun fade resistant.

Ive thought about that. But I would rather enjoy my paint than keep it nice for the next guy.

A soft brush is still significantly worse than the wash mitt like Jeff posted.

This. A brush is fine for a car you aren't to concerned about the paint on. Jeff's Vette, my RS and Stealth, won't see anything but the wash mitt.

Brushes on paint? Hard pass for me.
Wash mitt with lots of soapy water. Other than that, a clean microfiber cloth would be the only other thing I'd regularly use for various types of polish or cleaner.
