I think last year when I got chased down that my clutch was slipping. I will do some testing soon to see but want to figure out what I will need if so. It seems that no matter what clutch you pick for a 3/s there are tons of people with problems.

Have been some of the favorites over the years. I would like to buy a clutch that I don’t have to worry about. Now the coop in me wants to get some multi clutch craziness. But the nagging in me says to get a single disk as it’s simple.

So tell me, what would you buy? What have you had good luck with?

You need a triple disc carbon carbon clutch. It's the only way to be sure.

I wouldn't buy a pucked clutch unless you plan on racing it all the time.

You know I’ll buy it! If there weren’t bad reviews in it as well I would buy it! There really isn’t a clutch that doesn’t have bad reviews. I stripped the hub out of a spec V! So honestly I don’t trust any clutch.

I have a pucked clutch right now! It was an el chepo but seems to have lasted 4yrs. More than I can say for some.

Southbend seems to have been pretty reliable over the years. I too will be in the hunt for a new clutch, so good timing.

Matt what did you use? You have a heavier vehicle and more power than us. Two things that come into play.

That is why I will never buy a spec clutch. I've seen that happen far too often across various platforms.

South bend is solid.

Yea, they appear to be consistently good over the years. Pricing is a little on the high side though, but if they work better than most...why not.

Being FWD I have an "advantage" by being able to use DSM clutches. I've got an ACT 2100 in the car now. I actually used to run a 2600 and probably still have the pressure plate, but I ended up pushing the hub out of the disk twice with it.

PitroadM/ATS triple carbon. I don't think you can get them anymore though, at least not through ATS.

I have had really good luck with the RPS max plate and stock disk (same as their street disk). First one lasted 90k, and I wasn’t easy on it. New one is in there now and it holds all the power I make with 13ts maxed out on E85.

That is a good bit of power for sure.

No problems with mine, though there's probably only around 500 miles on it max.

RPS Max with street/stock disk is a perfect solution if that'll hold your power level. I'd choose that over a puck disk anyday. The pucks last around 10,000-12,000 miles if you are as hard on clutches as I am.

Right now I’m leaning toward southbend stage 3.

I’ve gotta verified it’s slipping before I drop almost 800 bucks but with logs under boost it should be pretty oblivious. Rpm goes up, speed doesn’t stay consistent.....clutch is slipping.

Whats the TQ rating on that one and how much TQ are you planning to put into it?

I need to look more but I think it’s in the 500tq and eventually I would love to have that much.

You don't even have to log to test it. You just need to lug it. Go for a drive, put it into a gear that is too high for your speed, then mat the pedal. If the speed increases (slowly obviously) without RPM's spiking, then your clutch is good. If RPM's go up, but not the speed then it is slipping.

Pucked clutches are on or off. There is no in between, and there is no slipping the clutch to pull out. If you do slip a pucked clutch to pull out (ie daily driving duties) you will kill it fast. A full face is meant to be slipped.
