Going to go there soon and pick up a new jack. One of those low profile rapid ones. My old craftsman one sucks.

Anything else you recommend from harbor freight while I'm there. Such as perhaps an air compressor or electric impact gun? Basically any tools you've bought from them that ended up being well worth the money?

Google harbor freight database. Lots of really good coupons that get updated daily by regular users. Free stuff on there too.

I’ve just started picking up a few of their Icon lineup of ratchets and sockets. They are almost identical to Snap On except for less than half. Jury is still out on long term durability vs true snap on but most people as well as myself like them despite being more expensive than regular Pittsburgh stuff. Oh and their tool cabinets are nice.

If you have an air compressor I'm a big fan of their earthquake pneumatic tools.

I bought one of their 29 gal air compressors. I've been happy with it.

Hand tools are generally pretty good. I beat the hell out of the 20 ton press I bought from them. It needed a new cylinder after a few years, but that was only $60.

The only thing I've bought that I wouldn't recommend was a tap set. It was so far out of spec, I couldn't even use it to chase crud out of otherwise intact holes.

The 20V Earthquake impacts kick ass. If you don't want to drop that much on one and don't have the need for that much breakaway torque the Bauer line is nice too.

i hear good things about the higher end welders they sell, but thats not really an impulse buy thing.

Ya. Don't really need anything other than a jack. But figured while I was there if there was any tools you all would recommend I'd see about getting something.

Is the long reach low profile Daytona jack worth the premium over the standard one? About $60 difference it seems.

Only benefit I see is the extra 4" of jack height. Been getting along fine with my standard craftsman one but it leaks and gets stuck a lot.

Going to get a replacement soon, just wasn't sure if worth the cost.

I've read reviews on them both and the Daytona seems to be built much better.

Both are Daytona, just not sure I want to deal with the extra 7 inches in length for 4 inches more height. Plus $60 more.

Will probably just get the regular one.

those fuckers are heavy. I have had my pittsburgh aluminum one for about 10 years now and even that is a bit of a pain if you need to bring it places.

I have the same one too. I learned a couple weeks ago though that she doesn’t lift up the front of an f-150. Friends was in a bind. And he grabbed that jack. Somehow my still new jack turned into the shape of an “s”. Still works but won’t go all the way down due to the fatigued metal.

I won't use small aluminum jacks on trucks for just that reason.

Yea, i knew he was going to push its limits when he borrowed it, but he was in a pinch and it was all i had at the time.

I have since come across a Craftsman 3 Ton jack at Summit Racing's discount rack. Its a lot beefier and heavy.

That's the one I have now, the craftsman one. Takes about 2.6 billion pumps to raise any part of the jeep, doesn't stay up for long, and jams a lot, or comes crashing down. Every time I use it I do a few pump and adjust my jack stands then a few more, adjust, and so on. I've had that one for at least 9 years now.
