Are any of you seriously making the case that styling in either instance is a function of price?

Yes. There are reasons a much more mass produced vehicle would have different styling.

I thank you for the simple answer.

I'm actually going to give a serious answer here :)

I am not a huge fan of the C8 rear end. It might be the part of the car I like the least. Kind of seems jumbled and doesn't flow as good with the rest of the car as I had hoped. That said, I'd like to see it more "live" first to get a better perspective of it and see if it grows on me. I did not like the C7 when it came out either but it has definitely grown on me.

The Ford GT just looks over designed to me. I know it is functional blah blah but compare it to let's say the Koenigsegg Agera RS read end it definitely looks over the top to me. Like a 5 year old drew it.

I would not have expected the best, most on-point answer yet from you.

Color me surprised.

I'm a Ford guy, or I wouldn't have started the thread.

The GT rear looks like I would expect a Ford supercar to look, and the C8 rear looks exactly like I would expect it to look as well. Not just like the C7, but close enough to still say "Corvette". The Agera RS though...

Frankly, I think they're all a bit over overwrought, even while they're stylistically striking.

I'm sure it's just me, but of those presented here, the Ford seems a bit less...stressed, maybe?

It doesn't seem like functionality appears anywhere on the 'list of things" to embody.

Tell you what - take all of them and track them for a season, and see what they look like when they're done.
