Air ride

I know it’s been posted in one of my threads but I’ve been thinking more and more about it. To the point I need to ride in an aftermarket (obviously will not be a 3/s) air ride to see if I like it. Coil overs suck for street driving. Yes they lower your car, yes it handles great. No they are not conferrable no matter what brand or setting. Only thing that was semi okay was the tien spring replacement and even that I didn’t like a lot.

Given that I need ground clearance for aspects of my driveway, being able to drive around at stock ride would be amazing, but then at a car meet, or whatever drop it down so it looks right.

Mainly my question is, what vehicle would have similar character that I might be able to find an aftermarket air ride? Anyone actually ride in a vehicle with aftermarket air ride?

I kinda want a performance air system. Airlift makes the only one I’d touch personally. About 3-4k for the whole deal. You want the one with height plus pressure.

The problem with most air rides is they are only set for that comply slammed look. Everything else is secondary. As Ryan mentioned there are a few good ones but they are pricey.

I really don’t care to spend a shit ton if it’s exactly what I want. But I’m also not spending 4K without riding in one.

Know of anyone who has one? Any personal reviews? Any threads I can read about it?

Love my kw v3's. They were designed to be a street coilover.

I had zero issues out of my Megans for lots of street use. Many people had their coilover virginity broken in my car and loved them enough to buy their own.

Never tried these.

Nope. Lies. Megan’s suck as much as the rest. People just will not say it and in 20 min rides I’m sure they are fine but not day in and day out.

Everybody is different. I prefer my sporty cars to ride like a sporty car. If I wanted it to ride like a couch I'd buy a 90s Cadillac.

I really do enjoy how my 97 rides. I've put 500 miles on it in one day and had zero complaints

Maybe your preload was set up.too tight. Mine rode great and the people that bought them after riding in mine never had a complaint.

most coilovers are trash. KW v3's, Feal, Fortune auto, those are the only sub 2k coils i would personally use. Everything else is trash from an objective data driven point of view.

I love stock ride. Love it. I think it’s perfect for handling and ride. Hate stock wheel gap.

I would have to ride in what your recommending but from what I’ve been in all coil overs would be amazing on the track but just suck for daily and honestly suck for my driveway. I 3 wheel on stock suspension at one point. I might get stuck with lowered coil overs.

If you could pay a bit more and change it depending on your mood, why wouldnt you though? Not to mention the fact that its about the same as any coilovers that allow in cabin adjustability, like the tein edfc

for what its worth, fortune auto has air cups that sit on top of the coilovers and raise them 2 inches or so, if you wanted coilovers 90% of the time yet still wanted the option of returning to a stock or higher than stock height.

Good info! Or air ride that doesn’t adjust the up and down. Ready for the “heard you like air ride, so we put air ride on your air ride.”
