$100,000 garage challenge

I got the idea from a segment on Top Gear. Don't think about this too hard. It's just for fun.

You're given $100,000. You have to buy at least one, but no more than two cars, to handle all needs and all seasons. You don't have to spend it all, but you don't get to keep what you don't spend. HappyGeek doesn't get to buy a sensible $20,000 Honda and invest the remaining $80k

New or used, doesn't matter. You can get a $99,000 Bentley and a $500 winter beater if you want.

So, what do you buy and why?

Mine's easy. A C7 Corvette Grand Sport for ~65-70 and spend the remainder on a 2014+ Chevy Colorado.

That's pretty close to what I plan on doing in real life anyway. Once I pay off my Vette, I'm probably going to try to pick up a Colorado. It won't be hundred grand in the end, but the logic is the same. The Vette is a blast to drive most of the year, and the truck will do everything else comfortably.

2016+ GM 2500HD and a trailer ~ $40-50k

Honestly if MPG wasn't an issue I would already have a truck.

Focus RS, and a Raptor (:lol . I think they'd both be lots of fun to drive, the Raptor could be used as a daily, and for towing, and the RS would be the daily/fun car.

I'd take the 99k Bentley and then immediately resell it. That kind of money buys a house around here in cash with plenty left over to fix whatever needs fixed for the next decade ish

Us poor folk can't afford the insurance on it anyway, not to mention the property tax or 'usage tax' depending on the state.

$50k on a Land Cruiser and then another $50k on something fun like a S4, 340, Chevy SS, or something similar.

My list is different now that I have kids. I already have my Ram ~$50k. I would spend the other $50 on a gently used Hellcat Challenger or GTR.

Hmmmm. I kinda like the idea of a Hellcat Challenger too. Maybe get a Trackhawk to fulfill the 4 door AWD needs.

A full-on Cobra kit-car with 427 SOHC, a '67 Mustang fastback with a 302 Boss under the hood (gotta do some fab on the shock towers for it to fit) spend ALL the money on a max effort, and stay home all winter.
