I have a t50 bolt I need to remove on the transfer case of my escape. Last time I was there it was very very hard and I pulled hard enough to dent my socket all the way around. The bolt did not come loose and instead of breaking it I decided to wait till I had proper tools.

Does anyone have any experience in some high carbon/high strength bits? I would normally go towards impact stuff but this is a tight space.

I know it’s odd, but I did maintain my crv pretty well til around 200k when I was over it.

I plan on maintaining this one till I’m over it as well.

I need to do change the TC fluid and the rear end. Already did the trans drain and refill and did an oil change.

I haven't had any issues with the Harbor Freight stuff I have bought as of recent. It's worth it to at least try. Worst case, it breaks and you take it back :d ontknow:

Yea their sockets tend to be pretty solid especially the Taiwan built ones.

This. HF is my go to for torx and Allen bits.

I have a set of the impact half drive torx bits and have had no problems. Broke 2 snap on ones, went and got these... Haven't broken one yet even after pulling the bolt that broke the snappy ones.

That’s saying a lot then. Pretty sure their torx and Allen sets are still Taiwan built. I’m kind of bummed their large impact sockets have gone Chinese. Quality has taken a dip on those.

Pretty much everyone besides snap on/Mac have gone to Chinese made tools.

Snap On isn't even made in the USA any more.

Finally found what I was looking for. It was at Napa, once piece torx that had the 3/4 drive on it. 5 bucks per size but I only need the t50. Pretty pumped.

Well, that's not true

Most of their tools are made in the USA. They do own some other brands that are made overseas, like Blue Point. And they have manufacturing plants all over the planet due to various companies they have acquired along the way.
