If you change your oil a lot, I do, is there a better drain plug idea. Basically, I hate dealing with the oil coming out right when the plug comes out, hate worrying about stripping the the plug, and hate how there is no direction of the oil coming out.

Could one not put on a quarter turn valve with an angle going strait down?

There are the Futomo valves. I know a lot of people who love them, but I also know several shops who do not recommend them and frequently recommend removing them.

This.

I had the Futomo valve on a few of my cars (not the Spyder) and it works well, but drains slowly and probably doesn't get as much grit off the bottom of the pan as removing the plug and draining faster.

Convenience factor is nice, and not having to use a new crush washer. You can hook a tube up to it and have it dump right in a jug cleanly, which is nice. Much less mess.

Pros/Cons.
