I would like a utility trailer and I keep going all over the place on what to get (hi Im coop and sometimes cant make up my mind) it started out as something small to haul the lawn mower in or get mulch/dirt/stone in. Then I though, why would I get a utility trailer that couldnt haul my car if I wanted it to. Probably only haul my car a couple times, maybe a track day, maybe when its broken, but in all reality it would be for me to haul the lawn mower if I needed to or get other stuff.
Whats your thoughts? The smallest vehicle hauler I could get away with? Or just a simple 6x8 utility trailer? Also if you have one, post up about it.

I predict you'll be picking up an enclosed car hauler by the end of the week. Because hi, you're Coop, and sometimes just can't take the easy route.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Vehicle hauler wont have sides on it to hold things in (ie: transporting yard waste, tree limbs, leaves, whatever), unless you get an enclosed trailer, which is a lot more money for a decent one.

Eh, that's what a tarp and ratchet straps are for.

Re: Who has a utility trailer?
I have access to 3 different kinds of trailers. Small Utility, Medium Utility max 2900lb weight, and car hauler max weight 7000lbs. You have to figure out what youre going to tow it with, what you really want to use it for and how much youre going to use it for the extreme case. For most of the stuff i need a trailer for the medium sized trailer is fine and its the one we normally use. It has tie downs a ramp you can roll things up on to the trailer, but not for cars.
Re: Who has a utility trailer?
I just have an old snowmobile trailer for hauling crap around the yard behind the ATV or garden tractor. Works great, but not road-worthy at this point. Everything else goes on the car hauler.

This has crossed my mind. Problem is I cant get it around my driveway and anything I get will be parked up top our hill. If its an empty trailer chained and locked to a tree I doubt anyone will bug it. But a closed trailer they might try and look in.
So no, it will be an open trailer. But what size is the real question.

Re: Who has a utility trailer?
I just picked up a tow dolly for similar car reasons. Most everything I plan to tow will hook up to it. Only my awd vehicles would require dropping the DS.
It doesnt require registration. Its lighter than a trailer so I wont have to lug around dead weight. Its also super compact so it wont take up much space in my side yard.
