My plastic door sils have never really stayed all the way down as the plastic things are busted. Can someone confirm this is the correct part?

That's not the piece. The clips are part of the sill itself. When you put the screw in it expands those clips and keeps the sill in place. Basically you need new sills.

Really? The part that holds the carpet that the door basically hides when closed has the plastic built in?

I have no idea, I just know my door sills never have stayed down and figured it was a little clip in the metal. Brian seems to think it’s the actual door sill though.

The previous owner of mine just put a screw through the carpet :/

The rear has two metal prongs and there's supposed to be two(?) rivet things that click in place when you push them into the door panel.

Brian is right. You need new plastic sills. The only way around it would be to put some kind of metal clip into the body and then run a sheet metal screw through the door sill into the new clip.

You're talking about the lower door carpet trim. Door sills are the long plastic item that goes along the rocker.
