Anyone ever upgraded this? I have stock front but with urathan bushings. Curious if the rear actually helps?

Edit: maybe I should back up a little. I get how sway bars work but how does just a thicker one help that much more? Maybe a different angle or something but maybe someone can explain it more to me.

So because it’s bigger it can put down more “torque” and has more stored energy.

I wonder how much more. And what percentage actually helps and matters?

This really has me thinking. I don’t have any strut tower braces. I kind of feel like I need a front and rear one. Never liked the front ones, they always seemed in the way of everything. Plus everything I have is modified and so would anyone I buy even fit.

Totally, but one got me reading about the other.

Seems the front strut housings are pretty well encompassing of the body and don’t give much. But the rears can flex more and more over time. I have a rear sub box that’s pretty kick butt. It latches nicely when the seats lock down. Don’t know if I can do a typical strut brace either.

Hmmm.

I would love to hear what people think of these mods though. I really don’t want to do more mods that I don’t end up liking.

For the shock tower braces it depends on the construction of the vehicle and how the strut/shock towers integrate with the rest of the body. On my old Legacy the front struts were basically integrated with the firewall, so there was minimal benefit to a shock towers brace. On my Miata on the other other hand the shock towers are about a foot from the firewall so they generally benefit greatly from the brace. A NA/NB Miata benefits from most any additional bracing you give them.

And what did you notice when installing one?

I haven't actually installed a tower brace on any of my cars lol. Typically you get less cowl shakes and better suspension reactions to bumps.

More vibration in the car feel?
