He's already off to a good start with some life threatening retrieval techniques involving 3 come-alongs in series.

It sounds like he's going to use this as his tow vehicle to take last year's Willys back to Moab.

Kristen Lee (and her alter-ego Fancy Kristen)
Stef Schrader

David has insane projects and a solid mechanical knowledge base.
Stef's motorsports coverage is top notch and light hearted
Kristen has a nice all around set of articles. Her 0.0001% persona satire articles are pretty funny too.

I saw the headline yesterday and immediately thought "oh crap David Tracy is at it again."

I'd have to agree with your list of best current writers. Some of Alanis King's stuff is pretty good, but some of is just awful.
