Has anyone got any experience with these?

It looks like a great idea, but seems a little flimsy. They're working on a 5000 lb version though.

Thoughts?

Seen them used on a honda at a local car show....he used them to set his car apart. Don't know anymore than that.

I have one... Works great so far. Perfect for low ceiling garages, though I have a high ceiling I wanted to be able to move it around from stall to stall if I needed to, or be able to take it down and store it.

That's pretty cool. But $2300.....ouch.

Haven't had a need to yet. You would need a set of anchors in the floor wherever you moved it to, so about $100 per location and the pain of drilling and setting. The hydraulic connections don't leak when you disconnect them, so that part of it works well. There are wheels on the back side of each post to move them around fairly easily.

If you want to move around a lot, the floor-style jack is probably a better bet but won't get as much lifting height.

I just wanted to prove to tabasco that they aren't easily moved around if you needed to move them a good amount of times.

This is what i was getting at hans, im not talking about moving the lift wherever you want whenever you want, but being able to move it to the side when you dont want the towers in your way. Sounds like it would only take a few minutes correct?

Yes, once the anchors are set in the floor it is pretty easy to move them. I think it is 5 bolts per column, and you just torque them down and you are good to go. There are shims that come with it to get the columns parallel, but I didn't need to use any with my floor.

To tear it down, probably 10 minutes. To put it back up maybe 15-20 just to verify you got the columns aligned and parallel.

But, where ever you move it to, you have to bolt it to the floor. It just sound quite tedious.

Why would you have to bolt it to the floor? It's not holding a load, it's just sitting off to the side, it's like 6 feet tall, if you are worried about it just strap it to the wall for extra support from it falling

Yea, I'd be worried about it falling over. They have a very small base.

Yeah, if I do rent that house and am able to build a small garage, I want to be able to have some room to park a car close to one side so I can still have a workspace on the other side. Would be cool to get the lift out of the way when I'm not using it.

Its not just going to fall over on its own when unbolted for storage. The base is wide enough and heavy enough to keep it upright. If you were worried about it, put some hooks on the wall and run a strap or bungie around it.

Looks like this product has matured quite a bit in 4 years. Talk me out of buying the BL-7000SLX. I really only 'need' the 5000, but it seems silly not to spend the extra $150 for significantly more capacity in the same size package.

The 5000 goes .5" flatter, if that matters to what you want to do...

Since the Spyder has been living on my MaxJax the last few years, something like this would come in handy for oil changes and misc. maintenance. Hmm.

I need to check the ground clearance on the Stealth, but I don't think the extra half inch will matter. The 7000 is otherwise dimensionally identical to the 5000.

ETA on the 7000 is mid to late July. Damn...
