I hate my car

I can honestly say that. I am going to be real and not act like the 3/S is god or that I 'cannot live' without it. I think if any piece of metal has that affect then you have a problem especially if its a Mitsubishi.
With that said, my car is fine. It runs great. It looks good. It has relatively no problems. It will slam you into your seat if you let it. In the past, I justified the car because I enjoyed it whenever I drove it. I slowly stopped driving it but enjoyed it greatly when I drove it those infrequent times. Now, the more I see it, the more I hate it. I look at it with disgust to think how much time/energy/money I have wasted. I never thought I would feel this way but there is no denying it. The car sits there day in and out but I have no desire at all to drive it.
Why? Always worried something will break. Nothing ever really does. The most problem I have had was basically the alternator going twice or something that I have done due to stupidity. But, these cars are rare. If you own a 2G, going to the dealer or parts store for anything in stock is pointless. If you find your parts, they are expensive. Anything goes wrong, you have to have the best. No one will work on it which forces you to become an expert mechanic. It's just an amazing amount of hassle that I just do not need anymore.
Someday you will all see/feel the same way. I think it is just a matter of time. Let me say you the trouble: Keep it stock and leave it be. Enjoy it for what it is. Do not get attached. I have warned you.

Negative. I will never own a 3/S again. I just went through too much in too short of time.
My next daily driver -> BMW 3XX or G35
My next toy -> C5/Ferrrai 355
I think the 3/S is a love/hate relationship.
BTW, you should buy mine and paint it anything you want. It's completely done. I'll drop it off tonight if you want it.

Expensive parts? Can't find a mechanic to work on your car? Always afraid that something will break?
Yeah, you're probably better off getting a 355.

That's why I got out of the "fix your car all the time" or the "worry something will break" and went with the Z06. Faster than most cars stock. Mild mods make a huge difference and have zero effect on reliability (exhaust, intake, etc.) and it had a warranty. Plus parts are plentiful and dirt cheap, even from the dealer

The difference being they have a dealership that can actually work on it. I had one mechnic @ Mitsu told me I should trade my VR-4 in for the EVO as it was AWD.
The other difference is that this will be completely stock.

Is that you Auggie? If so, I thought you were selling yours. No luck? This is one depressing thread, but you won't bring me down. Not yet anyways.

I poor copious (sp?) amounts of money into each and every car and never have any regrets. I buy the car, improve the car, drive the car, love the car, REPEAT! That's just me tho.

I've been really itching to buy a vette for the same exact reason. I am almost exclusively looking (patiently) at Carmax, since I know I can get an extended warranty on anything they sell. Throw on an intake and exhaust, and call it a day.
A z06 would make a real nice daily driver for those times that my Stealth is kaput.

I definitely wouldn't trade my TT for a vette though.

The 355 is not the car you want to buy if you want ferrari and reliability. You can find the mechanic part, but the eletrcical and engine problems the 355s are known for make them a waste of good money. The 360 was a huge improvment in f-cars...gotta go for that one

Just sell it to some teenie bopper for 8K and be done with it. Let him have to deal with it breaking down on the way to prom.

If you hate your car so much sell it. I haven't driven my car since the beginning of the year and had only owned it 3 months before it broke. But it doesn't bother me because I know it's a track only car, it's only street legal so that it can actually get to the track until I find I know I'm serious enough to get a trailer and truck to tow it. I have been looking to get into a nice big, lazy american V8 though for a daily. I've really been eyeing the C6, but I've also been looking at some older Aston Martin's as well. We'll see how well my annual review goes

He has been trying to sell it. Maybe that's where part of his problem comes from? Correct me if I'm wrong, but he originally wanted to sell it because you were moving to NYC. After trying to get rid of it for so many months, he's probably realized that he will never get back what he has put into it.

Audible said it best. It *IS* reliable. It works fine. I said that above clearly. It's the fact that it's a constant hassle, parts are rare, etc..

Can you please explain that for me. Over here in Australia, that line is very true. I have to get all my parts from the US. Isn't that your country?

Yeah, but what shop can I get a clutch from, mechanical part that will be cheaper than the US? All Mitsu parts are already expensive then tach on shipping from Japan and it's ouch time. The US is much cheaper.
Eg - pulleys etc, I have to pay $450 for one from Japan. I order from Rockville, it's $250.
