What am I missing

My windshield wipers dont work and I think I have tried everything. I have a known good wiper arm (thing in the car) that I swapped from my other vr4, I can hot wire the motor so its good, and the fuse under the dash is good....what am I missing?

Wiring, column stalk or ETACS.

etacs.....hmmm didnt think of that one. I dont know how the wiring would be messed up, not like thats something to splice or anything.

I don't know what year your car is, but here is the etacs diagram via stealth316 out of the 91 service manual he has uploaded.

I didnt get a chance to swap out etacs...just not looking forward to where it is on the car. Did find out that my rear wiper doesnt work either....makes me think etacs just a little more.

Ok I am at the end of my rope with this. How do I hotwire the windshield wipers correctly and preferably to the stock switch. I realize I will only have one speed but I dont care if its MSPAINT. I need to know how to do it correctly.

well what have you done? did you find a known good etacs unit?

yup, I have a full working 93 parked right behind it. swapped out the etacs, switch, motor can be hotwired, and even put in a new fuse. As I understand it thats everything that could go bad. Is there anything else?

So....the same time the wipers quit working I did the battery relocation and ditched the sprayers.
This thread about his sprayers and then wipers quit working....is there anything that I need jump that would make it so I can test if that is my problem?

Damn. You all were right. Etacs. Working on it last night. Checked the etacs connector and they worked. Prob need a new etacs. Oh man. Wipers! No more fearing the condensation, the rain....yes!

Well when it wasn't running when I asked. Then ran for 4 months and down again for 3. Yes. Stubborn only because I didn't think it would not work for wipers and work for everything else.

Quit working again. Did when the wipers got a HAIR of resistance. Swapped etacs and nothing. Hot wired them like before, they worked but will not go on the switch again.
Would blame the switch but rear wipers don’t work either.
Could I have a second bad etacs unit?

Does the battery frequently die or run low?
