I was reading a local car forum and came across something that annoyed me just by reading.

"But what I don't understand is, you have tints, but you drive with your windows down so cops won't pull you over. It seems that rolling with the windows down negates the whole point of tints, because people can still see you in the car, even better than they could without tints."

The word "tints" is such horribly bad grammar. Since when can you put a plural of "shade" on your car? It's "Window tint." This is a small one that bugs me, but I've heard much worse ones. For example:

"Is there any aftermarkets on the vehicle?"

This is something I've heard here at my job. This is what they ask people when they should be saying "after market equipment."

So what little things do you guys hear automotive related that drives you bonkers?

Pretty much whenever people use slang for thier vehicles, such as "whip" or "ride" etc. It is either a car, truck, suv, etc.

I'm not so bothered by 'ride' but I'm wondering when 'whip' became synonymous with 'car'.

that's common of the old-school muscle car crowd. I once got into a discussion about the difference between "rice" in the muscle car crowd and "rice" in the import crowd.

Just misinformation that goes around about stuff is what annoys me. It gets annoying correcting people sometimes.

There are a few guys at work that are completely clueless and love to tell me about people's car they know. An SRT-4 running 95 lbs of boost, an STI running 55.
And then telling me that they'd completely destroy me. I'm like dude. STFU. :/ And my boss thinking that his friend's 67 mustang (that runs a 14 flat in the 1/4) is gods gift to cars.

I love when people tell me how shitty the transmissions in my car are.... 1 Trans 8 Transfer cases.... Seems bullet proof to me! and trust me, I can tear shit up!

I hate when someone get a certain car confused w/ another and swears that they are right. I will stab the next redneck that argues w/ me about whether or not my car is a mustang, I drive it I should know damn well what it is. (only happened once but pissed me off more than anyone can imagine )

I've had my Conquest called a Trans Am, a Camaro, a Supra, RX-7, etc. Only 1 person stopped and knew it was a Mitsubishi already.
3 badges on the car only say TURBO, no other mitsu or chrysler emblems
