I don't know why I read threads like this. It always makes me feel really dumb. I know nothing about these kinds of things.

Oh well, my intelligence lies elsewhere.

I would pressure test.

If you don't find ANY leaks in the system (particularly check around the hoses leading to the boost gauge and EBC), then I'd suspect the gauge or the EBC of malfunction. Do not forget to check IN the cabin for leaks!

Most boost guages and EBC's have relatively large pressure sensors with a barbed fitting on one end and wires going out the other... Make sure that this sensor is NOT near any source of heat. My 60mm GReddy gauge consistently reads a little 'off' because it was in direct contact with my rear IC pipe for a while.

Im on drugs so ignore most of what I say.... anyway. I would assume the adaption of the lines from one larger to smaller or vice versa would cause your readings to be off. If you go from larger inside diameter to smaller you will of course have your flow slowed down and pressure will increase. Go from smaller to larger and the flow will be decreased.

This theory is the reason I ran my boost controller and turbo timer both from different lines. The boost controller is direct but the turbo timer is t'd into another line but the t is close to the plenum so I assume the pressure difference is handled sooner. They both read the same pressure consistently.

Why dont you attempt to test it by just running another line to test with... or not.

Surging on decel @ partial throttle... no idea. If you were fluttering on the gas I could understand, you know on, off, on, off... but not just standard deceleration.

You know exactly what the surging is as the thing that is causing it is something I told you to NOT remove about a year ago.

I'll bet you your PS2 that if you put it back in, the surging will stop.

Try 98/99 fuckenretarded-spec. ...but it sounds like Boomslang can make me a custom wireharness to fit my hybrid ECU. :) It's kinda pricey though...
(with the surging ... what is it? the bov intake thing, or something else?)
Yes, the BOV silencer is the culprit. Need I give you the "airwall" speech again?

I believe IPS was working with Boomslang to make an adapter harness so you can use the AEM EMS with the 98/99 harness. That should let you use the hybrid ECU as well since it's the same damn plug configuration. Call up Jeff and ask him how the progress is going.

They like to flutter at cruising speeds. You can hear mine lightly open and close. YAY for speed density :)
