Looks great.
What's it made of? Looks like ABS plastic to me.

ABS is correct, not the most high tech thing out there but it works. I also wont cry myself to sleep at night if I smack a cone going 80 miles an hour again or do an "agricultural excursion" at the next track event.

I wouldn't mind having an ABS one for my car. I don't know what the point is in insisting on carbon fiber on a street / occasional track use car anyway.

well also the cool thing is this isnt just a slpitter either. Its an underpanel as well. It completly covers the engine bay and is just an inch shorter than the allotted SCCA maximum length. Yay for maxamising areodynamics

Plus the carbon or carbon/kevlar ones they make for my car make it
WAY too low to even think about driving in on the street and will run you $1500 - $2000 and thats way out of my ballpark.

As I said on BDC, looks awesome Mike.
I'm with you Gate, as much as I would love to get the carbon fiber one made by SCE I can't justify the cost with the high probability of me smacking a cone with it.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I had a really hard decision with weather to use the shinny or pebbled side but the shinny side is so easy to scratch and took some damage durring shipping. One of these days if I am feeling creative I might get one of those carbon fiber sheets and attach it to the splitter just for cosmetic reasons.

The plastic makes it look like a natural part of the car. Don't ruin perfectly good aesthetics.

Agreed. When I was talking to Chris (Multiades) about making one for my car, he suggested using plywood as a base and then covering it with fiberglass. Ghetto, but it'll work and quite well. Just have to get around to make it now.
Looks great though!
