I am more than a little surprised I managed to get a clean read of this chip...

Did you seriously just solder onto the CPU?

No.

I soldered on to the test points near the CPU

I was reading data from that little black EPROM below and to the left of the CPU.

Not that it matters. The immobilizer is still grumpy. I've got some tough choices to make. :grumble:

Is this going to hinder keeping the whole 4G harness/ECU conversion?

I might be able to fix it with an MUT3, and I've got a lead on a relatively cheap used one, but damn...I'm just sick of this thing.

I don't know if I have enough fucks left to give to find a way around it.

You could always go the dumbed down way with the 3k ecu?

I’m still cheering you get this to work on your terms though.

This may be the solution to get rid of the truck and the Montero. :chin:

I don't need any more parts. Especially from a 2WD 4 banger.

Too bad it’s not 4x4. I’m sure he has double in it than that but just can’t see it going for that much.

That seems like an odd choice for an engine swap..

Yea, bit odd of an engine swap and why keep it carb + turbo. Why not EFI and a programmed tune? I like the paint though. Feels like he could have made it shine more if tackled some of the interior better as well as the motor swap and even turbo placement.
