Research. Seems the newer 1500s have a lot more problems than the older ones. Then again the voice of the angry minority outweighs the voice of the quiet majority. They sell a shit ton of these things and it is not like every single one is having problems.

Still, seems there are more than Ford, less than Ram.

I do keep debating on buying an older 2500 Silverado or GMC. But MPG is so bad on the older ones I would need to get them for cheap.

Yeah the CTS is the most comfortable long distance car I've had for sure. Only seats I might prefer more are Volvo seats.

So he wants the least reliable truck on the road?

Just think... You see more complaints and issues about gm and ram but the Ford outsells them nearly 2-1

Too bad the Ford wrecked my back and bruised my knee. Wife had to rub my back for a long time last night just so I could move.

Part of me really wants to say fuck it and buy something like this for about $5-6k- https://www.dickshillsborohonda.com/inv ... t61j297239

Replace the wheels with factory or close to it ones and new tires and just drive it for a couple of years then after I move get a truck.

But that has 155k miles on it, and reliability/cost of upkeep comes into play.

Keep it on those wheels. Save money. Do minor work as needed. Ditch it if anything major comes up.

Wouldn't fit.

Also can't stand low profile tires on trucks/suvs. Ruins ride quality. Well worth the money to get smaller wheels with more rubber.

But in all seriousness, is a 2001 Tahoe pretty reliable or something that should be avoided? What should I look out for?

Hell yeah!!!!

All GM’s seem to have alternator and fuel pump issues. Also get it on a lift and look for rust.

Looks like it spent its life between cali and oregon so rust should be minimal.
