Yeah I know this is what was actually meant. As much as I love the absurdity of the Baja I'm just not sure at all what it'd get me as my 'fun' car.

Are you wanting to go fun on road, or off road?

Also we're friends? :d err:[/quote]

Chevy Cobalt interior with more power. Might as well get a fox body, spend 3-5k on mods, be faster, and have 12k in the bank.

Eh now that you don't have a Miata I'm not afraid to get a beer with you

Historical I've been more interested in on road. However I hav thought about getting something for more serious offroading. Again the Baja just does not make sense as I'd be better off with a 3rd gen 4Runner.

I do not disagree with you about the interior, but more looking at it for the handling platform than straight line performance.

Also the Miata is still currently in the garage it hasn't sold yet.

Why not something like a WRX or Evo? Look into doing rallycross.

I've posted older 2.0 WRX's before, evos are crazy money for what you get now. Rallycross looks like a blast but not sure I want to spend that much money.

Cobalt interior would be a step up from the C5. C6 had the Cobalt guts, steering wheel and all.

You don't buy Corvettes for the interior.

The biggest visual issue with the C5 is it is huge and its styling makes it look big too. The C6, which is basically just a C5.5 is smaller and visually looks smaller.

It really is bad, the equipment all comes from a early 90s GM car/suv. Everything looks super cheap and fits together badly.

This is of course true you buy it for the all around performance platform.

C5 was crap.
C6 was rental car grade.
C7 is vastly improved.

Chris, get a cheap 986 Boxster and either make sure the IMS bearing is done, or plan on doing it yourself.
