Re: Jeep Stuff
I rented a Tahoe out in Arizona and hated the damn thing. Too big to drive in a city and a major PITA to park. Also thought it drove horribly.
A truck is worse in the snow than any of your other cars - AWD or not.

Still say a Forester drive it until the headgaskets blow then have Steve throw some MLS ones on. It'll run forever.

What year was it? The older ones were jerky, horrible turning radius, and yes I would agree with you. If it were 2011 (I think body style changed) then I disagree.

Re: Jeep Stuff
This was in 2017 and a newer one. I thought it drove like a boat and parking anything that size inside a city like Tempe was a major pain. Had to park in the parking garage twice and had to let people out before backing in since they couldn't get out the doors. Also had surprisingly little luggage space for the size of the vehicle with the second row up (we were 5 people in it) and the luggage floor is really high for loading stuff. It seemed to float over bumps (I know - body on frame) and definitely had zero fun factor.
Good towing capacity etc though. All depends on what your priorities are. I was playing with the idea of one due to all our gear which is one reason why I rented it. Came away less than impressed.

Im just gonna say, drive something bigger and then drive it. Its size and agility for what it is....is impressive.

I'd drive something bigger but the Titanic sunk and I don't think they'll let me drive the USS Nimitz..

Re: Jeep Stuff
That was pretty weak. I know you can do better than that.

I dunno, I thought he did pretty good
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Re: Jeep Stuff
Since I was curious I just went and looked up the cargo space of the Tahoe vs the CTS. The Tahoe is 12" longer but has 10 cubic feet less storage behind the seats. Obviously has far more with the seats down (94 vs 57).

Re: Jeep Stuff
They can't figure out what the clanking noise was or what went wrong. They replaced all the spark plugs with champion copper plugs and swapped out the o2 sensors. Says it is running fine now.
Picking it up, or trying to, on Saturday. Then we will go put a full tank of fresh gas in right away (has some older stuff in there) and see what happens.
If runs good for a couple days I am going to swap back in the old radio, buy a new instrument cluster, and probably buy that bumper mentioned above.
Going to try it through this winter at least and see what happens.

Might also go Saturday to one of the pick n pull yards. One location has a couple Jeeps of the right year. Going to look for an instrument cluster.

This is tempting...

Apparently EAG is a rebrand company. They take bumpers from Barricade that don't might have slight defects and then re-badge them and sell them for cheaper.
