Well 3sx didn’t have it. I asked a couple people on 3si that make stuff for us if they thought of making it. They both said they don’t see the need. Okay. Fine.

So I ordered some 1x1 aluminum round stock from mcmastercarr and I will throw it on the lathe and make it. I am sure Aaron could make me a file to 3d print off my measurements but it’s okay.

Literally look at my picture of my new leather handle with 3SX button above. You won’t notice, and it’ll hold the leather in just fine.

You are right. I wouldn’t notice.

Mine didn’t break apart as easily as yours. The metal will be here Wednesday. Im gonna make one. It will be fun and pointless and that’s kind of what I do.

Havnt trimmed the length yet, but just working on making sure it fits nice, and it does. Exactly 20mm



Now here is where I hit my snag. I am sure my dad has the tooling to do a center cut, but I couldn’t find it. I wanted to do this without him, not because I don’t want to call him…but he was like, I get to teach you how to run a lathe…I know how. I’ve made multiple things. He has the attachment for a drill bit but I don’t have a 9/16 to use to drill it. So basically I marked center and so I could easily keep working when I go drill the hole, then cut this where I want it, then drill the inner hole.

Overall going well.

Yeah. That will do! The shifter boot sits a little high, but that’s just splitting hairs. Overall I’m thrilled with it. I think it came out great.

Thank you. I was very proud of myself. I tried to make two more since and was trying to do it too fast and messed both up. Was just trying to streamline things. I’ll prob make a couple more, just take my time though.

One reason it takes me so long to make them is making them perfect in the Chuck well. I messed up trying to speed things up but I used those parts to make spacers so I can easily and quickly Chuck my parts.


Took some wet sand paper and did the front this time. Was even thinking of polishing it up or possibly powder coating it.



I made the sides a little thinner by accident. Just cut to much, still stronger than plastic but I will have to keep an eye on it.

Some true chromies would be my ideal wheel. If I had to pick something else I would prob pick something stupid light and not care what they look like.

You’re looking at a hood I’ve had painted and cf I’ve replaced and you can’t see the rest. You can’t see the maroon the car was when I bought it. You can’t see the huge chips they painted over without filling, you see what I showed you. Not what I didn’t.

The raw carbon panels mixed with the painted panels (even if they are bad paint) still doesn't look good.
