The saga that will be Coop living with a retired HMMWV.

Re: The saga that will be Coop living with a retired HMMWV.
So the problem Ive been having is that the stock gauge is inaccurate. Well that doesnt stop me from not liking the readings. Plus you know its working as when the volts drop so do the head lights dim. So its at least readings.
Well sometimes it drops way into the red...others its way into the green. So now after adding a grounding wire it is at least stable in one spot. On the line between green and yellow.
I go measure a port and Im frying between 26-27.5. It should be at 28. I can turn up the alternator by just turning an allen head, so I will prob do that next time when I get some time but at least its stable now.

Re: The saga that will be Coop living with a retired HMMWV.
Went and got drywall yesterday, 12ft long. Hanging way out back. But I strapped it down.
You all have heard how my driveway is. Its crazy. But I wanted to back up into the grass and bring the drywall right into the bottom. So this was the first time I put it in 4 wheel low. For the Humvee you have to shut the vehicle off. Shift it into low, then start it back up. This gives the Humvee something stupid on torque wise with the geared hubs. I didnt even touch the gas, it backed itself up that hill with the drywall and everything. Wet grass and it never spun. It was impressive. Ive put our Tahoe in 4wheel low and backed it up the hill before. Its nice as it has tons of power...but not like this.

Kind of reminds me of the LJ Rubi I had. Put it in 4 low with the axles locked and in 1st gear and you had to hold the brake down pretty hard to keep it from crawling on it's own. Sure the humvee is a lot more powerful, but the first time doing it in the LJ really impressed me.
Re: The saga that will be Coop living with a retired HMMWV.
Well I left the running lights on for a week and half and the battery went dead (lights still worked lol). So today I went out to disconnect the batteries and charge them up one at a time. Well a squirt had made it his place to store nuts. Literally 50 acorns some opened some not. I dont know how he didnt get shocked? Like I even grounded out my wrench while undoing things and made sparks. How does a squirl with lots of hair not get shocked?!

24 volts isn't a lot and squirrel hair isn't very conductive.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Wouldnt be enough to even deter them?
I dont know how they got in there. Yeah there are openings big enough for bugs but not squirls!!!! It must have been when I had the doors off.

They wouldn't even notice it. 24v isn't enough to overcome the resistance of a squirrel.

Well....listed it for sale on facebook for 17k. We will see what happens. If I can get around 15k I will sell it and go buy a brand new wrx. Obviously with me adding money.

I was said twice in it that if it doesnt sell Im okay with that and I am. I dont actually want to sell it but I can not find a daily driver in my price range. Its been 4 plus months of serious looking. Im past the reliability of my crv and the Humvee is (at the end of the day) a toy.

I already have had to deal with a car dealer who wants it for advertisement. And a kid who wanted to know how much I would come down, and when I say kid I mean hes in elementary school. It has 500 plus views and kind 8 saves. We will see.
Only way I agreed to this was that I can buy a new or at least less than 5k wrx. So we will see, I also hate every wrx I see has summer tires on it, I will have to drop a good chunk just to get new tires right off the batt.

Got an offer for 14k cash. I countered with 15k and I will bring it to you, hes an hour away.
No response. I mean listed for 17...he his me 3k low, I dont think it was uncalled for asking for 1k more. Figured if he had a problem he would say 14.5k. But nothing. Lol. Maybe he was like crap....it just got real.
Honestly I would take 14 but I didnt want to be like DONE! Lol.

This is why I am going to list the remainder of my 3s parts on eBay. If someone wants them they are going to bid or buy it now. None of the, "Would you take $5 for that part that is worth $100, but you have listed for $15."
