Never really been a fan of stripes or the hood/roof look on any car. Just makes it look odd and a bit ricey to me. Yes that is the simplistic Scandinavian in me...

That is my tuners twin turbo C6. I think Frode will hate it.

I mean - that is so over the top it is kind of cool. Sort of a Fast and Furious style. If you are to do that style you need to go all out but keep it nice like that. So I don't actually hate it but I would not want it for myself either.

Not sure if that really makes sense haha.

It makes sense as a promo for the shop. I wouldn't have that on a strictly personal car though.

They want me to get to over 700 on mine, but would take another $15k to get there reliably, and not something I want to put into that right now.

Sounds like what they want is your 15k.

$15k could pay a lot of bills.

Right? That's why I'm not going to do it. Could get the motor close for a lot less, but this includes transmission upgrades to handle the power.

I don’t know much about vettes but I’m guessing HP isn’t your issue now but traction would be. I think it would be cooler to see a mini tub or widebody. But that’s prob super costly as well.

With current power levels, on stock tires, I could probably run low 11 upper 10s in the 1/4 depending on traction. With drag radials maybe low 10s. If I get a torque converter, probably high 9s on a good day. I am at about the limit a stock auto can handle if I am careful with it and don't beat on it too hard. It has a good tune and extra cooler, but still will only last so long before I know I will need to replace it. At that time I will probably increase the power.

I can get a Circle D converter installed for about $3000 with a new tune for it included.

I’m just talking about street driving. Isn’t traction a huge issue at this point?

Depends on ambient and tire temps. It is not awful, but ya, easy to get them loose if I hit the go peddle too hard/fast. If I let it build up and leave traction control on it is manageable.

You talk about wanting to go to the track. What kind of track, drag strip or road course? Cause 1000hp on a road course is pointless.

Drag. There is a high performance rack track/road course type thing on the west side I want to do, but the local track to me here is a drag strip.

This might be a low key rant, but I'm at the point in my life that having zero debt brings me much more happiness than a pile of bills and a few shiny things. Not that i cant afford shiny things every once in a while, but the feeling and flexibility of no debt is...amazing!
