Black looks great for the 30 seconds it's clean then it's just a pain in the ass.
I mean, my car is filthy right now, but it is winter, but even when it is not its cleanest I still get a ton of compliments on it, and I think a lot of that has to do with it being black.

Went out shopping today. Started at Carmax and drove the Accord Sport 2.0T 6spd Manual. Loved the car, Honda still knows how to build a great feeling shifter. I still really don't know that I want to deal with the maintenance and upkeep of a black car. :eh:

I also started at Carmax to get a quote on the Sequoia. They will give me $6500 for it. A bit less than I was hoping for but not terrible.

Then I went and test drove this 2013 F150 4x4. Overall I really like it, price is a bit high, but lower miles, loaded and 5.0. Really good condition, especially given there's some obvious signs it has been used as a truck and not just a mall crawler.

Finally finished off this expedition by looking at this 2012 Lexus GX460. It is in good condition except for the rear bumper was messed up at some point. someone took off the right rear tail light and stuck a sheetmetal screw into the bumper to hold it into place. Then on the drivers side there is some serious spider webbing cracks in the paint. Basically it needs a respray, but the dealer is like "well it's a used car and it'll sell as it is at this price." Which they are right it will sell.

ABS on the Sequoia freaked out on the way to visit a friend just now, so pretty sure I'm dumping the Sequoia at CarMax. I hit the brakes and it acted like I was trying to slam on the brakes

Time to part ways. Sounds like the well prices f-150s are further up north.

Yeah my wife and I are both on board with dumping it at CarMax, but are both unsure of what to replace it with. We kinda feel like whatever we pick we will probably wish we had done the opposite. :d ontknow:

The salesman texted me and said I can basically get this truck for $26k out the door. Which 6 months ago I would have jumped on. Now we have much less need or use for a truck. Basically my wife and I kinda want it "because truck yeah!" and "because 'merica." :d ontknow:

It's a very nice truck and basically is exactly what I was looking for last year. Now without the Miata and with us not planning on buying a travel trailer it seems silly to buy a larger vehicle when one of my chief complaints about the Sequoia is its size relative to the Explorer. :banghead:

You will find you use it more often than you think. Plus it gets 20mpg, sits you up high, fits your growing family with loads of room for car seats, and will protect you better in an accident.

I think the size thing will go away. Trucks are easier to see out of than SUV’s. With the short bed option they become much easier to park and maneuver around as well. I feel like I’ve adapted well to mine.

Get a car. Buying big just to buy big is stupid.
